Robert Kelner
Personal InjuryMr. Kelner is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law. He is a member of the law firm Kelner & Kelner, Esqs., practicing in the fields of personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability law. He has obtained in excess of 200 verdicts and settlements of $1,000,000 or more, including a verdict of approximately $23,000,000 (Martin v. Dellwood) and a verdict in excess of $36,000,000 (Driscoll v. New York City Transit Authority). Mr. Kelner has lectured before virtually all major bar associations in Continuing Legal Education Programs, including the new York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the New York County Lawyer's Association, where he is Co-chair of the annual Civil Trial Practice Institute. In addition, he has lectured at Princeton University and Columbia University School of Law. Mr. Kelner is a co-columnist of the New York Law Journal's regular column on Trial Practice.
He has been involved in many major tort cases, including the Kent State trial, representing the students who were shot, the Maurice Gibb medical malpractice wrongful death case ( Mr. Gibb was a member of the BeeGees rock group), Mariane Pearl, whose husband, Daniel Pearl, was executed in Pakistan, and Liza Minelli, who is being sued for assault by her husband, David Gest.
He has appeared on many television stations, including all major networks, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC. He has been interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, Paula Zahn, and Maria Bartiromo. He has been on many radio programs in the United States and the BBC in England.
He also was the subject of the Public Lives column in the New York Times.
